ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobos want your blood! UNM’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), in conjunction with United Blood Services, will be hosting its annual Blood Drive on Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 27-28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the UNM Student Union Building Ballroom A. Wednesday’s donations will count towards the Mountain West Conference’s Annual SAAC Blood Drive competition among the nine member schools.
There are two ways to make an appointment for a donation. Potential donors can call UNM SAAC member Alexandra Lusk at (772) 475-9264 or log on to www.unitedbloodservices.org (Sponsor Code: UNMAthletics).
Potential donors should eat a good meal and drink lots of fluids (no caffeine, please) before their appointment. Bring a photo ID and a donor card, if you have one, to the appointment. Free cholesterol testing also is available every time you donate.
