ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It is one of those parties when you can’t tell who is having more fun – the big kids or the little ones. Over 90 University of New Mexico student-athletes and staff got together with members of the Marine Corps Reserve to make Christmas a little brighter for several families from the Albuquerque area on Monday night at the Tow Diehm Complex.
The Lobo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted the Christmas pizza party for the toy distribution and paired up with their young guests to check out the new toys.
During the past few weeks, Lobo fans have been bringing toys and money to men’s and women’s basketball games to supply the needs of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program. Fans contributed $1,250 and five large collection boxes worth of toys. Thank you to all Lobo fans!
Santa and Mrs. Claus were unable to attend the party due to a special stop they had to make in Illinois to pick up an early Christmas present for Lobo football fans.
