Around The Pit … with Kimberly and Michael
A fan’s perspective…

Name(s): Kimberly and Michael
Game: New Mexico vs. Southern Mississippi

1. How long have you been coming to watch Lobo Basketball games?

Michael: 13 years

2. You have been coming to Lobo games for 13 years, what keeps you coming back every year?

Michael: The excitement of The Pit and just the excitement of Lobo basketball.

3. What is your favorite memory of The Pit?

Kimberly: Overtime games with the last shot going in. There’s really several very exciting, down to the last buzzer games.

4. Who have been or are your favorite players on the team? Why?

Michael: Probably Danny Granger is one of my favorite players that I have seen play. I think in the past just his hard work ethic and his leadership.

Kimberly: Well, I really like the more recent players, I’d have to pick Daniel Faris; he’s out there working hard.

5. Most of the Lobos’ basketball games this year have ended with a close finish, would you rather watch a close game, unsure of a win, or a blowout with a Lobo win?

Michael: Always the close games, against one of the Mountain West Conference teams.

6. This has been a pretty aggressive and close game so far, how important is it that the Lobos win today?

Michael: I think it’s important that we win at home. Anybody that comes in and plays at The Pit, there should always be that fear of the crowd, the fear of playing in The Pit. We should just always win when we are at home.

7. The Lobos are 3-4 on the season, what do they need to do to get to the .500 mark?

Kimberly: We need to start making our baskets and getting our rebounds.

8. What is your favorite aspect of Lobo Basketball?

Kimberly: I would say the hometown feeling, the large crowd that is excited and gets into it, and the tradition that nobody sits down until after the first basket for the teams, and then we get to sit.

Michael: I agree. The excitement of the new coach and new players; just the excitement of The Pit!
