Head Coach Jeremy Fishbein
On the Air Force game:“We attacked well tonight. We went into the game with a good idea about how we wanted to play. It was an important win for us. It’s good to score goals. Smithson started things off with a nice goal that set the tempo of the game. We were solid and confident. When we gave them chances we created our own problems.”
On Sunday’s game with Denver:“We’ve cut it close. We need to take care of things Sunday. Nobody wants to be in this situation where you’re in charge of your own destiny. But our guys have been training hard and this is a proud team. We have a big game Sunday.”
Sophomore Defender David Murphy
On the game:“I think keeping our composure and playing our game helped a lot tonight. We knew if we moved the ball around, our chances would come. We kept it locked down on defense tonight. We know if we play our game we’re one of the best teams in the country. If we come out and play our game we should have success Sunday.”
Senior Forward Chris Wright
On scoring two goals and moving up on all-time goals list:“It’s a great achievement. I wouldn’t have that achievement if it weren’t for the guys around me every year. Every year as a forward you depend on everyone else to get you chances for goals. It’s a tribute to everyone I have played with in my career.”
On tonight’s game:“We always know we have to focus against Air force. They give you their hardest game no matter where they are in the standings. They are always tough to play against and always very physical. We have a lot of respect for Air Force and I think that is important whenever you are facing an opponent. We were able to get some goals tonight. It was a great win. Now it’s time to get ready for Sunday. Everyone knows the importance of the upcoming game. It’s going to be a good game on Sunday.”
