Lobos on TV: Thursday night’s match will be televised live on The Mtn. Anne Marie Anderson and Amy Gant will call the action. The match is scheduled for 30 minutes later than normal due to the MWC Women’s Soccer semifinals being telecast earlier in the day.

UNM vs. Colorado State: The Lobos are 21-38 against Colorado State in a series that dates back to 1976. UNM is 11-14 in Albuquerque with the last win at home, 3-1, on Oct. 22, 2005. UNM is 1-25 against CSU since 1995.

• Fairchild Still Ranked 3rd in NCAA and Leading MWC … Senior All-America candidate Jeanne Fairchild continues to lead the Mountain West Conference in kills (4.89 ps) and points (5.24 ps) this season. Fairchild ranks third in the nation in kills per set this week. The Albuquerque native reached the 1,000-kill career mark at UNM on Oct. 4 against Utah with her final kill of the third set. Fairchild now ranks fourth on the UNM all-time career kills list with 1,134 kills.

• Lobos Among Tops In Attendance … New Mexico stayed at 21st in the national attendance rankings this week. UNM is averaging 1,500 fans over the first eight home matches of the season. The Lobos’ season-high 2,236 fans showed up on Oct. 2 against BYU. The Lobos are second in the MWC behind Colorado State in 10th with 2,489 fans per match.

• $2 Admission For Everyone on Jam Johnson and Youth Night this Thursday … The Lobos annual Jam Johnson Night is set for Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. UNM will face nationally-ranked Colorado State in a televised match on The Mtn. Admission for all fans is just $2. It is also Youth Night.

About New Mexico (18-5, 8-4 MWC) … The Lobos are holding on to third place in the MWC, following Saturday’s 3-0 win at BYU … All-America candidate Jeanne Fairchild leads the Lobos and the MWC with 4.89 kills and 5.24 points per set, while sophomore Jade Michaelsen leads UNM setters with 11.01 assists per set … Defensively, junior Anna Lehne leads the front row with 1.34 blocks per set, while senior Gayle Tripp runs the back row with 4.60 digs per set … Lehne leads the team with the best hitting percentage of .310 … Sophomore Lisa Meeter and freshman Allison Buck lead the team with 16 aces each … UNM leads the Mountain West Conference in assists at 12.74 … UNM did not drop a set to start the season at 24-0, a school record. The NCAA record is 105 consecutive by Florida in 2003 … The 8-0 season start ranks fourth-best in program history … UNM finished their 11-match September road trip with a 9-2 record … The Lobos are racking up travel miles this season. UNM added 1,334 miles last week travelling to Salt Lake City and Provo. The current mileage tally is 10,879 miles. Add on the 13,790 miles from the trip to Argentina at the beginning of Summer Break and the Lobos have logged 24,669 miles from May 27-Nov. 1, 2008 … UNM ended an 8-match losing streak against UNLV on Sept. 27 and won for the first time in Vegas since 2000 with a 3-0 sweep … The Lobos won for the first time in Laramie since 2001 with a 3-0 sweep of Wyoming on Oct. 9 … With the Nov. 1 win at BYU, the Lobos have won the season series against the Cougars for the first time since 1991.

About CSU (19-2, 9-1 MWC; ranked No. 13 in Coaches Poll) … The Rams are led by Mekana Barnes and Jaime Strauss. Barnes, the 2007 MWC Player of the Year, is second in the MWC in hitting percentage at .379 and third in kills with 3.24 per set. Strauss is second in kills with 3.53 ps … Barnes also leads the league in blocks with 1.47 per set … Ashley Fornstrom leads the MWC in assists with 11.14 per set … Jacque Davisson and Katelyn Steffan are third and fourth in the MWC in aces at 0.32 and 028 per set … Katelin Batten is the top passer for the Rams with 3.65 digs per set.

NCAA RPI Announced … The NCAA released its latest Volleyball RPI report on Oct. 27. The next report will come out on Nov. 11. The Lobos are currently ranked 71st. Colorado State is the top MWC school at 11th with Utah at 17th and UNLV at 58. Unofficially, RichKern.com has the Lobos ranked 68 and the Lobos’ Pablo ranking is 26.

Lobos on Television … The Lobos’ final televised match of the regular season is set for Thursday, Nov. 6 on The Mtn. against Colorado State at Johnson Center. So far, UNM is 2-1 on television this season with 3-0 wins over BYU on Oct. 2 and Nov. 1, and a 3-2 loss to No. 13 Colorado State on Oct. 12.

Fairchild Joins Top Five … Senior outside hitter Jeanne Fairchild reached the 1,000-kill career plateau with 24 kills against Utah on Oct. 4. Fairchild moved into the Top 5 on the UNM career kills list against BYU on Nov. 1, finishing up in fourth place. She now needs 96 kills to move into third place.

Tripp joined the UNM 1,000-Dig Club on Saturday, Oct. 13, against UNLV. She now has 1,488 career digs.
