Final Stats

SAN DIEGO, Calif.— The University of New Mexico swimming and diving team defeated Air Force 207-93 today, but fell to Colorado State and San Diego State, 197-103 and 170-130 respectively, in San Diego, Calif. The Lobos accumulated a total of three first place finishes in the first conference quad meet of the season.

Freshman Marissa Campbell captured first-place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.29. In the 400-yard freestyle relay Campbell , along with Katrina McLoughlin, Tesse Maciejko, and Jennifer Patterson placed second (3:36.02). Campbell was also the lead off swimmer for the 200-yard medley relay team, along with Theresa Rogers, Ashley Grisdale and Maciejko, which finished third (1:50.43).

The Lobos also captured two first-place finishes on the diving board. The first came from Sasha Evangulova on the 3-meter dive with a score of 249.30, she was followed in fifth-place by Ashlee Erickson (226.12). Aubrey Bush then secured a win on the 1-meter dive, followed by Erickson in second (230.89) and Evangulova in fourth (223.20).

Freshman Jocelyn Colella finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (58.59), followed by Campbell in third (58.69). Patterson secured a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.97.

The Lobos are now 1-2 on the season and 1-2 in Mountain West Conference competition.

UNM will return to action at home Saturday, Nov. 1 at West Mesa Pool in Albuquerque, N.M. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
