The University of New Mexico women’s golf team finished in 13th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate. UNM shot an 8-over 292 in the final round to finish with a team total of 878 on the par-71, 6,092-yard Stanford Golf Course. Final stats are available at www.golfstat.com.

No. 3 UCLA took the team title at 8-under 844, three shots better than Southern California. USC’s Lizette Salas won the individual title with a 7-under 206.

The 16-team field featured nine teams ranked in the current Golfweek top-25 poll.

Junior Jodi Ewart was the Lobos’ top finisher at 2-over 215 (70-76-69). Ewart tied for 14th after firing a 2-under 69. She began the final round in a tie for 41st.

Freshman Rebecca Hellbom had a nice final round with a 2-over 73. She ended the tournament tied for 53rd at 222 (73-76-73).

Senior Morgan Grantham, who had a career-low 69 in the first round, shot 79 today to finish at 224 (69-76-79) and in a tie for 60th.

Junior Britney Choy shot 75 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 227 (76-76-75), tying for 66th. Senior Mikaela Backstedt rebounded from a second-round 83 to shoot 75 today. She tied for 69th at 228 (70-83-75).

UNM will be back in action Oct. 28-29 when it travels to Hawai’i for the Kent Youel Invitational on the island of O’ahu.
