New Mexico senior running back Rodney Ferguson is ranked fourth in the latest ESPN.com Non-BCS/Independent conference running back power rankings.

Ferguson has established himself as one of the best running backs in the country through three games, leading the Mountain West Conference with 352 rushing yards (117.3 per game – T-12th nationally). He’s gone over 100 yards rushing and scored a pair of touchdowns in each of his last 2 games (146.5/game – 293 total).

Ferguson’s 125.7 yards from scrimmage (rushing/receiving) per game rank third in the MWC, while his four rushing TDs are tied for second in the MWC.

The Albuquerque Manzano product has carried the offense early accounting for 42% (377) of the Lobos’ total offense yards in the first three games. Ferguson’s long run of 45 is his longest in two years. He is also leading the league once again with 61 rushing attempts.
