Sophomore Keeper Eric Staver
“It feels great to get my first career shutout. We got our healthy guys back in there tonight. We finally got everything together and had a solid game.”
Commenting on the breakaway key save.
“I wasn’t sure whether I should come out or stay in the net. I guess I made the right decision to stay in and just went with my instinct. He hit it low and it was going in the corner but I got my hand on the ball.”
“The best thing I saw is that after we got our goal we just didn’t sit back and let them come at us. We kept putting pressure on them, getting shots, and holding the ball.”
Junior Justin Davis
On his goal:
“I was hoping Green would find me and he did, it was good.Green got the ball and played a nice ball split between the defenders. The other defender was coming over and put a lot of pressure on me, so I tried to get the shot off and found the back of the net. I knew I just had to put it on net somehow.”
“We were talking in the locker room about how this wans’t going to be an upset. To us, we’re the best team in the country so it wasn’t an upset for us. Maybe we will get some respect now in the rankings.”
“We had a lot of talks about focusing and team goals.Everyone was just motivated on winning.”
Head Coach Jeremy Fishbein
“We haven’t been playing up to our potential, we were making mistakes. Tonight we came out focused. The guys played extremely well. Eric Staver had a great game; Ryan Farquharson had a great game. It was a big boost in getting Simon back. We’re starting to get healthy all around. I feel we have a very good team.”
“We played real well tonight. Good team performance and the guys expected to win tonight. They came out and took care of business. “
“We went with a physical and athletic team tonight.Michael Green deserved the start tonight and he did wonderfully. Farquharson maybe was the MVP of that game.Farquharson is a machine, he played number 11 real well tonight. He stepped up big. Great team effort.”
“We played game management. We didn’t leave ourselves open for the counter and our guys took care of the clock. It was a real mature effort on everyone’s part.”
Sophomore Defender Ryan Farquharson
“We basically had to work together as one unit and shut down their two forwards. We were told to shut them down so we didn’t really have a choice. We played tonight with passion and hunger because we wanted it. Were going to keep rolling with this. Were not going to let this feeling go away.”
