Stephen Brown is an impact player who is versatile anywhere on the field for the 2008 University of New Mexico men’s soccer team. He plays in the back, middle or up front, but no matter where he is, his presence is felt every time he steps on the field. He already has one game-winner against San Diego in overtime in this early season. We played 20 questions with Brown and here are some of his answers.
1) What is your favorite movie?
The Prestige.
2) What’s your favorite class in school this semester?
Fairy tales.
3) Who was your favorite Spice Girl growing up?
Posh Spice.
4) If you spotted an alien, would you tell the press?
Definitely.
5) Would you rather bungee-jump or sky-dive?
Sky-dive.
6) What is your best golf score?
89 at this golf course in Arlington, Texas, called Lake Arlington.
7) What other sport would you like to play if you weren’t playing soccer?
Basketball.
8) What would you do with a million dollars?
Invest, pay off college, and buy a new car.
9) What’s your favorite brand of bottled water?
Aquafina.
10) Who is your favorite superhero?
Superman.
11) What’s your hobby?
Guitar hero.
12) Who is your favorite pro football team?
Dallas Cowboys.
13) Who was your sport ICON growing up?
Cal Ripken Jr.
14) What is the best concert you have ever been to?
Brad Paisley this past summer.
15) Would you rather snowboard or ski?
Snowboard.
16) Who wins in a fight: Maximus from the movie Gladiator or William Wallace from Braveheart?
Maximus, because of his training he has the edge.
17) What celebrity female did you have a crush on growing up?
Britney Spears.
18) Would you rather fight a lion in a cage or faceoff against a tiger shark in a pool?
Shark in a pool.

20) What was your favorite sport to watch in the Olympics?
Swimming.
Brown was born on March 15, 1988, and is the son of Larry and Kathy Brown. He played high-school soccer in Arlington, Texas, and was district player of the year in 2005. He also guided his club team, the Dallas Texans, to three straight U.S.Y.S.A. National Championships. Brown is looking to go into either business or education for his major. He one day hopes to play professional soccer and have a family.
Steven Brown and the Lobos go up against the No. 2 ranked Akron Zips on Friday, September 12, at the UNM Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. (M.D.T). The Lobos are looking to bounce back from a heart-breaking double overtime loss against Louisville last Sunday.
