The Lobos win their home-opener for the first time since the 2005 season. UNM had dropped their last two – 2-0 to No. 10 UCLA in 2006 and 1-0 to Loyola Marymount last season. After giving up the first goal of the evening, New Mexico recorded just its 13th come-from-behind win in head coach Jeremy Fishbein’s tenure. UNM is now 13-22-4 in matches where the opponents score first. The Lobos even their all-time record with MSU. Their only other match was a 1-0 Spartan win in east Lansing, Mich., in 2006. New Mexico improves to 41-1-0 when scoring three goals in Fishbein’s tenure. Their only loss was 6-3 defeat to UC Santa Barbara in 2003. UNM recorded five assists in the game tonight. It is the most since getting five in a 3-0 win over Denver in 2006. Junior defender Simon Ejdemyr did not play in the match tonight due to a knee injury he suffered in practice during the week. The Lobos had a season-high 17 shots tonight. UNM has had seven corners kicks in each of their three games this season.
