According to the Celtics Blog on the Boston Globe’s web site (Boston.com) former University of New Mexico men’s basketball standout J.R. Giddens has agreed to a two-year contract with the Boston Celtics. The first two years are guaranteed with an option for two more years. Giddens was the Mountain West Conference co-Player of the Year for the Lobos last season when averaged 16.3 ppg and a league-leading 8.8 rpg. He was taken in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Celtics in June.
