Former University of New Mexico men’s soccer All-American Lance Watson (2002-05) saw his first action of the season with Major League Soccer’s Kansas City Wizards last night. Watson got the start in the Wizards’ 3-3 tie against the Columbus Crew televised live on ESPN.
Watson had been sidelined the entire year with a knee injury he suffered in the preseason, but played the first half against the Crew. Click here for a complete recap of the match. Watson was a second round selection by the Wizards in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft after guiding the Lobos on a memorable run to the 2005 NCAA College Cup Finals.
