PROVO, UTAH — The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team, ranked No. 51, will share the regular season MWC Championship with TCU, and possibly Utah, after TCU slipped by UNM 4-3 on Saturday. Utah still has a chance to take a piece of the regular season title, with a three-way tie, by beating BYU later today. The Lobos end the regular season at 18-7 and 5-1 in MWC action while TCU finishes 18-6 and 5-1 in MWC play.

New Mexico took two matches on the doubles courts to take a 1-0 lead. Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski defeated Emanu Brighiu and Kriegler Brink, 8-6, to finish the regular season with a 24-6 mark as a pair. Graeme Kassautzki and Joe Wood also ended the season with a win against Zach Nichols and Jack Seider, 8-2, at the No. 3 spot.

In singles, Kassautzki and Pajkowski earned the Lobos a point each but New Mexico was unable find the final point. Kassautzki beat Brink 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot. Pajkowski played the No. 5 spot defeating Adrian Simon 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Kassautzki closes out the season with 21-9 mark while Pajkowski is 16-10 this season.

New Mexico’s next action will be during the MWC Championship Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas April 24-26.
