LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team won its fifth match in a row to improve to 12-6 overall and a perfect 4-0 in MWC play. The Lobos swept doubles for the fifth consecutive time.

In doubles, Ola Abou-Zekry and Lucy Scott defeated Ellie Krausova and Kathryn Kitts 8-7 at the No. 1 spot. Mackenzie White and Jennifer Ryba beat Holly Bagshaw and Sisse Nielsen 8-4 to improve to 8-2 on the season. Emma Hayman and Victoria Tessmar played the No. 3 spot for an 8-4 victory against Esther Cadua and Milana Yusupov.

White gave the Lobos their second point with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Julia Trunk. Ryba beat Yusupov 6-1, 6-3. Then Abou-Zekry gave New Mexico the match when she defeated Bagshaw 6-0, 6-4 on the No. 1 court.

The Lobos battle No. 58 UNLV on the road on Saturday at 10 a.m. UNM closes out the regular season with a three-match home stand beginning April 11 against Utah.
