ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team takes a 3-0 MWC record (11-6 overall) to Las Vegas, Nev., for its final two road matches of the season. New Mexico, ranked No. 55, and San Diego State clash on Friday at 10 a.m. On Saturday, the Lobos face No. 58 UNLV, also at 10 a.m. The Lobos are working on a four match win streak, their longest of the season.
San Diego State slides in at 7-9 overall and 0-2 in conference action. They fell to Utah, 4-3, on Friday and BYU, ranked No. 47 at the time, 4-1 on Saturday. SDSU’s latest win came against Harvard, 6-1, on March 25.
UNLV comes in at 9-7 on the season and 1-1 in conference play and ranked No. 58. BYU handed the Rebels their fourth consecutive loss, 4-0, last Friday. The Rebels broke their long skid with a MWC victory over Utah, ranked No. 56 at the time, 4-0, on Saturday.
New Mexico trails both opponents they face this weekend. The Aztecs lead the series 13-7 while the Rebels hold an 8-5 advantage.
The Lobos finish the regular season with three home matches. On April 11, Utah comes to town followed by BYU on April 12. Senior Day concludes the season on April 13 against TCU.
