Fort Worth, Texas — The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team won its second MWC match of the season against Wyoming 6-1on Saturday. The Lobos won their tenth match of the season improving to 10-6 and 2-0 in conference action. The Cowgirls fall to 10-6 and 1-1 in conference.

In singles, New Mexico won on courts 1-5. Ola Abou-Zekry (1) defeated Corina Lazar 6-1, 6-2 improving to 11-10 on the season. Mackenzie White (2) beat Rebecca Berger 7-5, 7-6 (6) for her 14th victory on the year. At No 3, Lucy Scott won 6-3, 6-4 against Carly Van Hollen. Emma Hayman played on the No. 4 court, winning 6-2, 6-1 over Michelle Brown for her 20th victory of the season. Jennifer Ryba took care of Sarah Summerfield 6-4, 6-0 at No. 5.

On the doubles courts, the Lobos collected a sweep for the fifth time this season. Abou-Zekry and Scott paired up for an 8-2 victory against Berger and Lazar at No. 1. At No. 2, White and Ryba defeated Brown and Van Hollen 8-1. In the No. 3 spot, Hayman and Victoria Tessmar teamed up to beat Brit DeFelice and Jamie Nelson 8-3.

New Mexico finishes up its Fort Worth stay on Sunday against Colorado State at 10:00 a.m. (MDT).
