BOZEMAN, Mont. — Polina Ermoshina and Tor-Hakon Hellebostad earned All-America honors today for their Top 10 finishes in the women’s and men’s Nordic classical races at the 2008 NCAA National Championship Meet. It is Ermoshina’s third career All-America honor and second this season. For Hellebostad, it is his first All-America honor as a Lobo.

“Despite our battles with injuries and illness, we are still getting some great performances this year,” said Lobo head coach Fredrik Landstedt. “Polina had a great race today, as did Tor-Hakon.”

Ermoshina placed second in the women’s 15-kilometer classic with a time of 55:59.4, just behind national champion Maria Grevsgaard who has won all but one race this season. Melanie Zemp picked up points for the Lobos in 22nd place.

Hellebostad recorded a career-best finish in the men’s 20-kilometer classic at eighth place with a time of 1:04.23.1. Simon Reissmann, hampered by a shoulder injury, placed 26th, followed by Casey Dyck in 31st.

The Lobos remain in seventh place in the team standings with 310 points.

Competition wraps up on Saturday, March 8, with the men’s and women’s slalom races. Malin Hemmingsson will be defending her 2007 title in the race.
