ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s tennis junior Graeme Kassautzki today earned Mountain West Conference men’s tennis player of the week. This is his second honor in as many seasons. He was also named player of the week Feb. 7, 2007. Kassautzki is the second Lobo this season to earn the honor after Max Jones got the award on Jan. 30.

Kassautzki won all three singles matches that he completed last week. Against Sacramento State, he defeated Holden Ching 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot.

At the HEB Invitational he aided the Lobos to a 2-1 finish. Against No. 61 South Alabama, Kassautzki beat R.J. Nagel 6-4, 7-5. He upset No. 82 Ilya Babinciuc, from No. 39 Texas Tech, 6-4, 6-3.

Kassautzki is 8-5 this spring and 12-7 overall this season in singles. In doubles, he is 7-4 after a 0-3 start this spring. He has an 8-6 overall record in doubles.
