CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team finished the HEB Invitational with a 4-0 victory over No. 37 Old Dominion. The Lobos have their best record of the season at 8-6. They finished the weekend 2-1 and the week with three wins.
In doubles, Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski teamed up at No. 1 for a win against Aleksander Seleznev and Eidy Igarashi 8-6. Chris Parkes and Joe Wood paired to win 8-3 against Rodrigo Souza and Tobias Fanselow.
With the Lobos ahead 1-0, they finished with three wins in singles for the victory. Pajkowski beat Timo Gerke 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 6 spot. Johnny Parkes defeated Fanselow 6-3, 6-1 and his brother Chris Parkes won 6-1, 6-4 against Matt Fawcett.
The Lobos will spend time in Lincoln, Neb., before they return home to host three matches in as many days starting with a rematch against Old Dominion on March 20.
