ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s tennis team defeated the Boise State Broncos, ranked No. 59, 5-2 on Friday. The Lobos are 3-2 in home matches this season.

The Broncos swept doubles play but the Lobos came back by winning five singles matches. Ola Abou-Zekry won her first match after earning a No. 94 ranking playing at the No. 1 spot against Pichittra Thongdach 6-2, 6-2. Sandra Zmak defeated Bianca Jochimsen 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.

The No. 4 match was Lucy Scott against Klaudia Wlodarczyk. Scott won the match that lasted almost three hours 7-5, 6-7 (12-10), (10-5). Emma Hayman won against Stacey Housley 6-0, 6-4. Jennifer Ryba beat Laura Baum 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6 to give the Lobos enough points for the win.

The Lobos, 4-3, will welcome No. 66 on Sunday at 11 a.m.
