Wildcat Invitational – Day 2 Results in PDF Format

TUCSON, Ariz. — The 27th-ranked New Mexico women’s golf team shot a 23-over par 307 Tuesday in the second round of the Wildcat Invitational. Senior Alexandra Phelps shot 2-over par at the Par 71, 6,166 yard Arizona National Golf Course scoring the best round for the Lobos on the day. UNM enters the final round in sixth place and sit 19 shots back of Oklahoma State for the tournament lead.
Sophomore Jodi Ewart, who is ranked 19th individually, shot a 5-over par 76 and has a tournament total of 147. Ewart is currently tied for eighth place and is seven strokes back from tournament leader Amanda Blumenherst of Duke.
Senior Alexandra Phelps shot a 2-over par for the day and is currently 8-over par for the tournament. Phelps also finished with two eagles on the day and is currently tied for 19th place.
Sophomore Britney Choy and Junior Morgan Grantham are both tied for 45th place after round two of the Wildcat Invitational. Choy finished with a 7-over par for the day while Grantham shot an 11-over par. Both are shooting an 11-over par after two days of the 54-hole event.
Junior Mikaela Backstedt is tied for 58th place and is shooting a 16-over par for the tournament. Backstedt finished the day shooting a 9-over par. Junior Py Bengtsson, playing unattached in the tournament, recorded a 11-over par for the day and is currently tied for 66th place with an 19-over par on the tournament.
Oklahoma State leads the field heading into the final round of competition on Wednesday. The Lobos enter the final round trailing the Cowgirls by 19 strokes. Duke is currently in second place followed by Arizona and USC tied for third.
