The University of New Mexico will have strong representation this week at the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine with former Lobos Travis Brown, Devin Clark and Marcus Smith invited to attend. The 2008 Scouting Combine is the annual job fair for prospective new NFL players.

Also participating is UNM head athletics trainer Dave Binder, who is one of three collegiate trainers selected by the NFL. Binder will join head trainers from the University of Florida and the University of Wisconsin.

For six days from the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, players are put through a series of drills, tests and interviews with more than 600 NFL personnel including head coaches, general managers and scouts.

The 2008 NFL Combine will be broadcast live on the NFL Network. Clark and the offensive linemen will work out on Saturday, followed by Brown, Smith and the wide receiver group on Sunday.

Linebacker Quincy Black was the lone UNM representative at the 2007 Combine, but dazzled scouts with his performances in Indianapolis. Black was later selected by Tampa Bay in the third round of the NFL Draft.
