New Mexico beat San Diego State in the 37th meeting between the two teams, 63-54, extending UNM’s win streak to 18 games over SDSU.The Aztecs have not won in The Pit since 1995 and have not won against the Lobos since 2001.In a game that had four ties and three lead changes, the Lobos’ largest lead of the night was by 17 with 2:09 remaining in the second half.UNM is now 35-0 when scoring at least 60 points over the past two seasons.The Lobos held the Aztecs to just 10 points in the second half through the first 15 minutes. It was the fourth consecutive game the Lobos out-rebounded their opponents…42-31 on the night. The Lobos did not score a field goal until 15:57 into the first half, but opened the second half with seven straight points.This is the first game in conference play that the Lobos have won after trailing at the half.New Mexico has now won two consecutive conference games at The Pit after starting the season 0-3.
