BYU Cougars vs. New Mexico Lobos
Albuquerque, N.M.-The Pit

The Lobos fell to the Cougars 41-38 in the 59th meeting between the two teams…BYU now leads the series 36-23. The Lobos are now 0-3 at The Pit this season in conference play. The three-point loss by the Lobos is the third by that margin in the past four games. Each team had only five field goals apiece in the second half…New Mexico failed to score a field goal after 6:49 remaining in the game. There were 10 lead changes and six ties. BYU out-rebounded New Mexico 49-30, the most rebounds an opponent has had against New Mexico all season. The Cougars had 17 second-chance points. New Mexico scored 17 points off BYU’s 25 turnovers. The 12 points by the Cougars from 9:02 to 3:46 in the first half were courtesy of four consecutive three-pointers. Each team had only 16 points in the second half…the lowest this season by the Lobos and their opponents.

Senior Dionne Marsh

Led the team with 11 points…needs 11 more to move into third on the Lobo all-time career scoring list and 175 to become the Lobos all-time scoring leader.

Freshman Jessica Kielpinski

Had four assists…beating her season-high of three against California on Nov.18.

Senior Brandi Kimble

Led the team with 10 rebounds…second time all season she has hit double figures in rebounds…leads the team this season in number of games as the rebound leader with 10. Had four steals…now needs only 11 more to take possession of tenth place on the Top 10 career steals list.
