ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico women’s tennis team lent a helping hand during a recycling event to keep discarded electronics out of the landfills this past Saturday, Dec. 1st. The special drop off, hosted by the UNM Staff Council Environs Committee and UNM recycling, allowed the faculty, staff and students in the UNM community get rid of old electronic items while keeping these dangerous items out of the landfills.
Along with players from the women’s tennis, UNM staff and students volunteered helping make the drop off a success. The event collected more than 17,000 pounds of electronics that can now be safely torn down and recycled.
