- The Lobos defeat Hawai’i 79-69 for their 5th straight
win…New Mexico improves to 12-2, including 2-2 on the
road…Hawai’i is 3-8, 3-6 at home
UNM is 12-2 for only the 2nd time in the past 7
seasons…the Lobos started 14-2 in 2004-05
New Mexico grabbed its first lead at 16-15 on a dunk by
Daniel Faris and never trailed the rest of the game…the
Lobos’ biggest lead was 44-32
UNM outscored UH 9-2 the final 1:35 of the game after
the Rainbow Warriors cut the margin to 70-67
UNM shot 55% (27-49) from the floor, the best in a road
game since making 57.8% (26-45) in a 77-66 win at UNLV on
Feb. 28, 2005
