FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The New Mexico women’s swimming and diving team lost a tough non-conference meet this afternoon to Northern Arizona, 169-125. The Lobos and Lumberjacks have faced off 22 times in the pool with the series now evened at 11-11.

“NAU swam a great meet and it just wasn’t our day,” said Lobo head coach Tracy Ljone. “We still have a lot of things to work on for next semester.”

Sophomores Ashley Grisdale and Jennifer Patterson picked up two wins each, while Patterson picked up a third win on the Lobos’ 400-meter freestyle relay.

Patterson set a Wall Aquatic Center record in the 100-meter butterfly with her winning time of 1:04.41. The Albuquerque, N.M., native picked up another win in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:26.57. She also swam the second, and fastest, leg of the 400-meter free relay with a time of 1:00.16 to contribute to the overall winning time of 4:06.62.
