ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico Head Softball Coach Ty Singleton and his coaching staff announced today they will be offering two Saturday skills camps for softball players, and two coaching clinics in January to kick off the 2008 season.
On Saturday, January 5 the Lobos will host a skills camp for players ages 13-21, along with a coaching clinic for coaches of players in this age group. In addition to camp staff covering offense and defense (including pitching & catching), special guest coaches will cover strength & conditioning, nutrition, slap hitting and team-building, among other topics.
And on the following Saturday, January 12, Coach Singleton and staff will host both a skills camp and a coaching clinic for players and coaches of players ages 8-12. This camp will also cover offense, defense, pitching & catching, and will feature special instruction by former All-SEC, professional player and D-1 coach Karrie Rider, now a private instructor specializing in the successful development of the younger softball player.
