KISSIMMEE, Fla. – New Mexico women’s golf was defeated by Purdue, 3-2-0, Tuesday in the final day of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championship held at the Ginn Reunion Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. The Lobos placed 10th in the three-day event and reached the consolation final against the Boilermakers. Sophomore Jodi Ewart and junior Morgan Grantham collected wins against Purdue. Duke captured their fourth team title in as many tries as they defeated Georgia, 3-1-1.

The Lobos were among the nation’s top programs invited to play in the tournament and went 2-2 against No. 6 Georgia, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 7 Vanderbilt and No. 4 Purdue. UNM dropped its opening round to Georgia on a tiebreaker and moved past South Carolina in a tie. The Lobos beat Vanderbilt to reach the consolation final were they lost to Purdue.
