TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — University of New Mexico women’s tennis senior Jennifer Ryba beat I. Jarasova from Jacksonville 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the final of the consolation round. Ryba was the only Lobo to add a win to her singles column during the Florida State Invitational on Saturday. Sandra Zmak just missed the finals of the main round after falling in three sets to Florida State’s C. Walter (1-6, 7-5, 6-2).

In doubles, two pairs won the consolation finals of their flight. Zmak paired up with Lucy Scott to take their flight after defeating the team of Carati and Serot from Central Florida 8-1. Mackenzie White and Victoria Tessmar teamed up to beat Davidova and Komslova from SCSU 8-4. The pair of Ola Abou-Zekry and Jennifer Ryba lost their second close match in a row after losing in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-5) to Castillo and Pazo from Florida International.

The tournament will wrap up on Sunday with singles finals. Action gets started in Florida at 8 a.m. (6 a.m. locally).
