DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — New Mexico head coach Jill Trujillo has been named the Central Section Coach of the Year by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) on Thursday. The annual announcement included the section winners for Teacher, Professional and Coach of the Year. This marks the first time Trujillo has been honored with the award but has been named Professional of the Year twice by the same organization.
“I think one of the greatest honors is to be recognized by your peers,” said Trujilllo. “Being nominated for section coach of the year is an incredible highlight to my year and I give my team the credit for letting me lead them. They are an amazing group of talented young women.”
The LPGA T&CP awards are presented by Etonic and recognize five coaches from various regions including the Central, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and Western.
