The Lobo men’s golf team is in Somis, Calif., for the Club Glove Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday, hosted by Pepperdine University. The team is doing fine and is out of danger from the wildfires that have caused the evacuation of much of Malibu, Calif., and dorms at Pepperdine University.
“We are about 20 miles from Malibu and it is unlike anything I have ever seen,” stated UNM head coach Glen Millican following the cancellation of today’s practice round. “It looks like it is really foggy but it is the smoke in the air. The ashes flying around look like snow flakes, but we are far enough away from the danger that we should be able to play the tournament.”
