ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico’s fall Individual Invitational finished up on Sunday with singles finals. Victoria Tessmar finished her undefeated run in Flight C with a win over NAU’s Aimee Oki (2-6, 6-0, 10-7), winning the flight. Tessmar finished the tournament 4-1 playing in two separate flights.

Emma Hayman finished 3-1 to win the championship of the consolation draw. Hayman beat Leslie Vial from NAU (6-2, 6-1). Her only loss came against teammate Jennifer Ryba. Ryba played for the championship of the main draw but Stacey Housley from Boise State outlasted Ryba (2-6, 6-2, 6-0) in the three set match.

In Flight B, Maria Sotirchos met Kim Van Ginkel from NAU. Van Ginkel knocked off Tessmar to advance to the final and remained undefeated in singles with the 7-5, 6-0 victory over Sotirchos in the final.

Overall the Lobos won 14 of 18 singles matches after starting 10-0 and finished 4-2 in doubles. The team wraps up the fall season in Tallahassee, Fla., at the Florida State Invitational (Nov. 2-4).
