– New Mexico defense holds Wyoming to season-lows 238 yards of total offense and 3 points
– The 3 points are the fewest allowed by the Lobos in a Mountain West Conference game since defeating Wyoming 26-3 in a Laramie blizzard in 2003.
– Wyoming’s MWC-leading rushing tandem of Devin Moore and Wynel Seldon held to combined 38 yards on 21 carries
– MWC leading rusher Devin Moore limited to just 30 yards – 84 below his average (114) – on 12 carries and a season-low 34 yards from scrimmage.
– Wynel Seldon finished with 9 carries for 8 yards – 66 below his season average.
– UNM also got its first defensive touchdown of the year on Ian Clark’s 2-yard fumble return for a TD
– It was the Lobos’ first fumble return for a TD since LB Cody Kase scored from 2 yards out in a 31-27 win at Utah in 2005.
– Wyoming entered the red zone twice and came away with a single FG
– For the year, UNM has limited opponents to just 12 scores (7 TDs) on 18 trips inside the 20
– The Cowboys got on the board with a FG following a 17-play, 86-yard drive, that used 7:52 of the 2nd quarter – it was the longest drive against the Lobos this year in plays, yards and time of possession

Junior TB Rodney Ferguson (Doak Walker Award Candidate)
– Game-high 89 rushing yards on 26 carries
– Season-long run of 30 yards in the 1st quarter
– Lowest scrimmage yardage day of the year, but moved the pile to convert a 3rd-and-1 play late in the 2nd quarter to set-up the game-breaking Donovan Porterie-to-Travis Brown TD
– Remains 14th on the UNM career rushing list with 1,931 yards
Senior WR Travis Brown
– Career-long 63-yard reception for a TD on the Lobos’ 4th play following the lightening delay
– Missed his 4th 100-yard game of the year by 6 yards, finishing with 4 catches for 94 yards
– Two 3rd quarter catches were ruled laterals by the official statisticians resulting in 17 yards rushing
– Has tied his career-high with 4 TDs this season
– Moved into sole possession of third place on the UNM all-time receptions list (143) passing Hank Baskett (140), Mike Henderson (141) and Preston Dennard (142)
– Remains 10th on the UNM career receiving yardage list (1,656)
Junior CB DeAndre Wright
– 2 break-ups and did not allow any long passes (15+ yards) for 2nd straight game
– Has 7 PBUs this season, including 5 in his last 4 games
– Has not allowed a long pass in 3 games…4 long passes allowed this season have come in games vs. Arizona and New Mexico State
Sophomore QB Donovan Porterie
– 12-21 passing for a game-high 191 yards, a 63-yard TD, and zero turnovers
– Improves to 7-2 in games he has started and finished in his career
Senior WR Marcus Smith
– 75 more yards on 5 catches, moving up to 11th on the UNM career yardage list with 1,514
Senior K John Sullivan
– Went 2-2 on FG attempts with a long of 41
– 5th game with 2 or more FGs this year
– 4-4 this fall from 40 yards and beyond
– Has hit 12 consecutive FG attempts after beginning his career 1-3…he is now 13-15 on the season
– Kicking with a torn ACL in his left (plant) leg that he suffered in late April of 2007
Sophomore lobo (S) Ian Clark
– Career-high 8 tackles, including 1.0 for loss, and scored his first TD with a 2-yard fumble return in the 3rd quarter
Senior P Jordan Scott
– Landed 3 of his 5 punts at or inside the Wyoming 10-yard line
– Finished with a 44.8 average and allowed just 1 return for 1 yard
– Came into the game leading the MWC’s No. 2 net punting unit
MISC.
– Play was suspended with 2:36 left to play in the 2nd quarter due to lightening…the delay lasted 1 hour, 43 minutes.
– Halftime was completed during the delay and the remaining minutes of the 2nd quarter were completed after the break
– UNM kicked off to begin the 3rd quarter immediately after the final minutes of the 2nd quarter were played.
– New Mexico’s last experience with a significant lightening delay came almost 8 years earlier to the day when play was interrupted during a home game versus BYU (L, 31-7) on Oct. 16, 1999
– New Mexico has won 4 in a row in Laramie for the first time in series history
