BOISE, IDAHO — University of New Mexico women’s tennis team had mixed results on Saturday (Oct. 6) at the Boise Fall Invitational. Mackenzie White, Sandra Zmak, Emma Hayman, and Maria Sotirchos all won their singles matches on the second day. White teamed-up with Jennifer Ryba for the only doubles win in the second round.
In doubles, White and Ryba beat Montana State’s Nuria Hernandez and Allison Fey (8-2). Teams Zmak/Lucy Scott, Sotirchos/Hayman, and Victoria Tessmar/Ola Abou-Zekry all lost their matches on day two.
In singles, Sotirchos beat Fey in singles (6-2, 6-4) while White defeated Montana State’s Laura Villegas (6-1, 2-6, 6-3). Zmak won her match against Celine Holly from Oregon (6-7, 6-0, 6-4). Hayman won against Andrea Maushan from Utah (6-4, 6-4).
