COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico sophomore Jodi Ewart and TCU sophomore Valentine Derrey have been selected the Mountain West Conference Co-Women’s Golfers of the Month for September.
Ewart, a Middleham, North Yorkshire, England, native, tied for 15th place out of 93 golfers at the 2007 Margaret Moses Branch NCAA Fall Preview held at the UNM Championship Golf Course on Sept. 24-26 in Albuquerque, N.M. She finished her first tournament of the year with a 2-under-par 217. She shot a low-round 2-under 71 on the second day.
Derrey, hailing from Paris, France, also tied for 15th place at the Fall Preview in New Mexico. In her first competition of the year, she carded a final round even-par 73 to finish at 2-under 217. Her final round score included four birdies. The tournament field featured the top-12 finishers from last year’s NCAA Championships and additional institutions currently ranked in the top-10 in the Golfweek or golfstat.com polls.
