Senior men’s soccer goalkeeper Mike Graczyk was named to the National Team of the Week by CollegeSoccerNews.com today. Graczyk, a preseason All-American, guided the Lobos to two big road wins over the weekend. He posted shutouts at Cal State Northridge 4-0 and No. 12 San Francisco 2-0, lowering his season goals-against-average to 0.88. He now has 27 career shutouts, making him the all-time leader in that category at New Mexico.

Graczyk has guided the Lobos to a 5-3-0 start and a No. 22 national ranking in this week’s Soccer America Top-25. He came into the season with a school record 0.64 g.a.a. and has led the Lobos to three shutouts on the year. Graczyk also recorded an assist on a goal by senior Diego Barrera in a 1-0 win against Cincinnati earlier in the season.

New Mexico will take this week off before beginning Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play against Denver on Oct. 5. Kick-off for the match against the Pioneers is 7:00 p.m. (M.D.T.) at the UNM Soccer Complex.
