ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico women’s tennis team has a doubles team playing for the championship in the main draw of Flight A. Sophomore Sandra Zmak and senior Lucy Scott remained undefeated with a win in the second round to advance to the finals. Zmak and Scott meet up with Alessandra Ferrazzi and Karina Chiarelli from the University of Minnesota.
In singles, Zmak lost her first round match but has won her last two to play for the consolation championship. Freshman Emma Hayman ended a long first day 1-1 and added to her win column on Saturday to play for the consolation championship in flight B. Hayman will play Colorado’s Abbie Probert on Sunday.
The action finishes up on Sunday (Sept. 23) at 8 a.m. with doubles.
