Mackenzie White Selected to Represent the University of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — University of New Mexico junior tennis athlete, Mackenzie White was selected to the 2007-08 Mountain West Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), as announced by the league. White joins eight other SAAC members (one from each conference school) and she will represent tennis as well as all sports at UNM.

“I feel very excited and honored, it is a privilege,” White said, “I hope this will make UNM better and stronger and make people want to play the sport of tennis.”

White served as the treasurer for the UNM SAAC chapter last year and was named vice-president for the 2007-08 academic year. UNM’s faculty athletics representative, Brenda Bova will serve as the committee’s administrator.

The members of the MWC committee will be involved in conference calls once a month and will have two meetings during the year. The committee discusses Conference and NCAA issues as well as campus issues.
