A rowdy bunch of around 400 women would not let a little rain and a sunless sky spoil their fun at the 14th annual Womens Football Clinic. The clinic was under the watchful eye of head coach Rocky Long as well as his coaching staff and a handful of players. Fifteen stations were set up in order to teach women all the fundamentals of football.
While aspects such as running, blocking and tackling were emphasized, touchdown dances were also polished. The proceeds from the yearly clinic will benefit UNM’s Send a Kid program, which provides Lobo football tickets for underprivileged children.
The Lobos start this season on the road this year when they travel to UTEP on Sept. 1st for a get together with the Miners. Kickoff is 8 p.m.
On Sept. 8th the Lobos will host in state rival the New Mexico State Aggies in the season opener at University Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Season tickets are on sale now. Call 925-LOBO or Click Here for more information.
