ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — New Mexico golfer Jodi Ewart won the 2007 English Ladies’ Close Amateur Stroke Play Championship Thursday at Silloth-on-Solway, Cumbria. Ewart carded a 12-over par for the tournament to capture the title. Ewart shot back-to-back rounds of 2-over par 75 on the final day to beat Danielle Montgomery by two strokes. Ewart, who was representing the Catterick Golf Club in Yorkshire, finished the four round event with a tournament total of 304.

Ewart was among over 80 competitors competing in the event, mostly in their teens and early 20’s. All competitors played 18 holes on the first two days with the leading 36 and ties advancing to the final day. The final day consisted of 36 holes with Ewart earning the title.
