The 2007-08 Lobo Club Membership Drive concluded withrecord results for members, new money, gift-in-kind, cashand more than $3.5 million in total pledges at theannual Super Celebration held luau style at the UNMChampionship Golf Course Pavilion Thursday evening.
More than 120 volunteers, Lobo coaches and staff gathered tocelebrate the most successful Membership Drive in LoboClub history, helping kick off a new fiscal year with arecord $3,585,876.31 in pledges. Other Drive recordsincluded 2,950 members, $1,454,874 in gift-in-kind pledgesand $2,131,002.30 in cash pledges. In all, Drivevolunteers signed up 326 new members and raised$294,135.28 in new money.
“We’re very pleased with the superb results of this year’sDrive,” said Lobo Club Executive Director David Sabolcik.”The passion and enthusiasm for Lobo Athletics displayed byour volunteers is contagious and I am confident the Drivewill springboard us to our most successful fundraisingyear to date. It’s a very exciting time to be involvedwith Lobo Athletics and our volunteers have set the barhigh for future drives.”
Individual honorees included Veteran MVP Gordon Noonan andAndy Lujan, Rookie MVP J. C. Lopez, who raised arookie record $26,437.50, as well as Lobo Spirit Awardwinner Linda Perkins. Nestor Romero took home top honorswith $34,428 in new money raised while Yvonne Moise toppedall fundraisers with $134,523.36 in pledges. Bob Cooperrecruited 29 new members to join the Lobo Club.
The Drive Leadership Team included Chair Bill Duffey,Vice-Chair Noel Behne, Rookie Coordinator Yvonne Moise andteam captains Chris Cates, John Clark, Rudy Diaz, MikeFietz, Kevin Letz, Gordon Noonan, Linda Perkins, RobertaRicci and Susie Singer.
