SAN DIEGO, Calif. – For the second straight match, sophomore Graeme Kassautzki won both his doubles and singles matches, leading the 47th-ranked Lobo men’s tennis team to a 5-2 win over No. 72 Utah. New Mexico dropped the doubles point for the fifth straight match but rallied with five singles victories for the win.

Head coach Alan Dils mixed up his pairings at doubles, moving sophomores Johnny Parkes and Miles Bugby up from their normal No. 2 spot to No. 1. Dils paired junior Kamil Pajkowski with junior Chris Parkes at No. 2 and teamed junior Max Jones with Kassautzki at No. 3. The Lobos lost at No. 1 and 2 but won 8-7 at No. 3.

New Mexico rallied in singles with Kassautzki, Bugby, Pajkowski and Chris Parkes winning in two sets at Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6, respectively. Johnny Parkes held on for a 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 win at No. 2 while 51st-ranked Zach Ganger got the best of Jones, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 at No. 1.

The Lobos, now 13-6 overall and 2-1 in the Mountain West Conference, take next weekend off before finishing conference play with three matches in Fort Worth, Texas. UNM takes on UNLV Friday, April 13, Air Force Saturday, April 14 and TCU Sunday, April 15. All matches are slated for 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT.
