COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The 40th-ranked New Mexico men’s tennis team suffered their second straight loss for the first time this season, falling 5-2 today at No. 49 Texas A&M. The Lobos fell to 11-5 overall while the Aggies improved to 12-5, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Lobos but the team’s hadn’t met since 1995.

Texas A&M started off with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles to clinch the first point. Juniors Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski kept the Lobos from being swept with an 8-5 win at No. 1 over John Nallon and Brett Joelson.

The Aggies were victorious at Nos. 1, 4 and 5 in two sets, earning the four points for a win. They went up 5-0 after a tie-breaker went in favor of Texas A&M at No. 6.

Sophomores Johnny Parkes and Graeme Kassautzki avoided the shutout, getting wins at No. 2 and 3, respectively, after going to three sets.

The Lobos dive into Mountain West Conference action this weekend, playing BYU, San Diego State and Utah in San Diego.
