Albuquerque, N.M. – The No. 61 men’s tennis team earned a weekend sweep at the Lobo Tennis Club today with a 6-1 win over Northern Arizona to round out the Lobo home matches and bring the season record to 11-3.
The Lobos dominated the Lumberjacks in doubles winning at all three positions. Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski led the team at the No. 1 position defeating Jeffery Morys and Michael Platzer 8-4. Miles Bugby and Chris Parkes teamed up at the No. 2 position for a win over Chris Arena and Gareth Ducray (8-4). Graeme Kassautzki and Joe Nicolazzi held down the No. 3 position taking an 8-5 victory from Bradley Bristow and Fernando Freitas.
In singles action the Lobos won five of the six singles points to secure a match win. Jones started at the No. 1 spot to lead the Lobos with a win over Ducray (6-1, 6-7, 6-4). Kassautzki played at the No. 2 spot for a win over Platzer (7-5, 6-1) while Bugby took over the No. 3 spot for a 6-1, 6-3 win over Freitas. At the No. 4 position Chris Parkes defeated Morys in a 7-6, 6-4 battle and Pajkowski rounded out the wins with a victory over Bristow (3-6, 6-1, 6-4).
The Lobos head to Austin, Texas and College Station, Texas next week to finish out their non-conference schedule against Texas and Texas A&M.
