BOISE, Idaho – New Mexico had a tight leash on the Pacific Tigers last night and this morning, running to a 6-1 win. The teams played doubles action last night at the Boas Tennis Center, sweeping play, and then won five of six singles matches this morning for their fifth straight win.
Junior Chris Parkes and sophomore Johnny Parkes easily improved to 5-0 as a tandem, blanking Ahad Ebrahim and Alan Kelly at No. 2. Juniors Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski were back together at No. 1, clinching the doubles point with an 8-3 victory.
The Lobos cruised at No. 2-5 as sophomore Graeme Kassautski, Johnny Parkes, sophomore Miles Bugby and Pajkowski won in two quick sets, respectively. Sophomore Chandler Brass garnered a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6, playing in his first dual match of the season.
UNM concludes the weekend this afternoon with 27th-ranked Boise State at 1:30 p.m.
