BOISE, Idaho – Despite splitting singles action with 27th-ranked Boise State, the Lobo men’s tennis team fell for the second time this season to the Broncos on their home court. BSU swept doubles play, sliding past New Mexico, 4-3, and snapping the Lobos’ five-game win streak.
Sophomore Johnny Parkes improved to 3-0 at No. 3 singles, topping Piotr Dilaj, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. Classmate Miles Bugby followed suit, handing Blake Boswell a 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 loss at No. 4. Junior Chris Parkes remained undefeated (5-0) at No. 6 singles, rallying from a first set loss (4-6) to take the final two, 6-4, 7-6.
The Lobos head back to Albuquerque for their final home matches of the 2007 season. They take on Radford, Thursday at 1 p.m., 14th-ranked Minnesota on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and conclude with Northern Arizona on Sunday at 11 a.m.
