SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii – The Lobo men’s golf team is currently tied for 14th at the 22-team John Burns Intercollegiate in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. New Mexico shot a 9-over par 297 in the second round on the par-72, 6,918-yard Leilehua Golf Course and is now 8-over par for the tournament (287-297=584). The current team lead belongs to UNLV at 22-under par, 10 strokes in front of BYU.

Individually, UNM was led by junior Robb Bierbaum in the second round. Bierbaum moved up eight spots to a tie for 14th at 3-under par (71-70=141). Other Lobo results were senior Charlie Beljan is tied for 25th at 1-under par (68-75=143), sophomore Dan Saltz is at 5-over par (72-77=149) tied for 77th, sophomore Parker Pemberton is tied for 93rd at 7-over par (76-75=151), sophomore Nick Geyer is tied for 107th at 10-over par (77-77=154) and sophomore Steve Saunders, playing as an individual is tied for 25th at 1-under par (73-70=143).

The individual lead belongs to Jared Texter of UNLV and Frank Wrenn of SMU at 10-under, tow strokes in front of two other players.

The John Burns Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow with the final 18-holes beginning at 8:00 AM (HST).
