UPDATE — University of New Mexico offensive guard Bo Greer received a late invitation to play in the inaugural Texas vs. The Nation Game and will suit up for the Texas team in tomorrow’s college all-star game in El Paso, Texas. Kickoff from the Sun Bowl is set for 8 p.m. (MST) and the game will be televised live on CSTV.

The Texas vs. The Nation Game pits top collegiate players originally from Texas or who play college football in Texas against top players from around the nation. The 6-3, 322-pound Greer, however, defies that formula. He will play for the Texas squad despite being born and raised in Indiana and playing collegiately and Garden City (Kan.) Community College before transferring to New Mexico.

Greer started all 24 games he played in a Lobo uniform after redshirting the 2004 season. The Princeton, Ind. native was one of the team’s top leaders and paved the way for a 1,000-yard rusher in both seasons at UNM.

He is the fourth Lobo to be invited to a college all-star game in 2007, joining kicker Kenny Byrd (Inta Juice North-South All-Star Game), linebacker Quincy Black and offensive guard Robert Turner (both in the East-West Shrine Game).
